- Terps' Season Ends in San Antonio.
The Terrapins made it to the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year, but were unable to advance to the Elite Eight. They were defeated by a surprising Michigan State team, 60-58, in San Antonio, Tex. Freshman F Nik Caner-Medley was injured early in the game and did not return. Drew Nicholas scored a game-high 18 points in his collegiate finale. Maryland finished the season 21-10, the first time since 1999-2000 that they have failed to win 25 games.

This is the first time since 1982 that an ACC team has not made the NCAA Tournament's Final Four. NC State lost in the first round, Wake Forest fell in the second round, and Maryland and Duke were each defeated in the Sweet 16.
